Vincent DUBOIS
Né en France, à Saint-Brieuc, en 1980.
Après avoir obtenu cinq Premiers Prix au Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris : orgue (classe d’Olivier Latry), harmonie, contrepoint, fugue, et écriture XXème siècle. Il remporte en 2002, successivement, le 1er Grand Prix du concours « Royal Bank Calgary International Organ Compétition » (Canada) dont il est le premier lauréat français ainsi que le 1er Prix du concours international d’orgue « Xavier Darasse » de Toulouse.
Depuis, il se produit à travers le monde (Europe, U.S.A, Canada, Asie et Pacifique) et a été invité en tant que soliste à jouer avec le Los Angeles Philharmonic, Philadelphia Philharmonic, Hong-Kong Philharmonic, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France, Orchestre National de France, Orquesta Filarmonica del Gran Canaria, Orchestre National d’Île de France, Orchestre de Bretagne, Picardie… et a collaboré avec des chefs tels que Myung-Whun Chung, Evgueni Svetlanov, Edo de Waart, Stéphane Denève… Il a également été l’invité de nombreux festivals internationaux tels que Vancouver, Stuttgart, Montréal, Chartres, Cambridge, Lisbonne, Ottawa, Dresde, Merseburg, Roskilde, s’est produit dans différents lieux tels que le Konzert Haus de Vienne, le Tchaïkovski Hall de Moscou, Spivey Hall à Atlanta, Kemmel Center de Philadelphie, Kings Collège à Cambridge, Salle Messiaen de Radio-France, Bartok Hall de Budapest… Il a enregistré pour Radio-France, l’O.R.F (Autriche), CBC Radio-Canada, pour les labels « Alpha », « Tempéraments », « JAV Recordings ».
En 1996, il est nommé titulaire du grand orgue Cavaillé-Coll de la cathédrale de Saint-Brieuc puis devient titulaire du grand orgue de la cathédrale de Soissons en 2001.
Titulaire du certificat d’aptitude de directeur des conservatoires à rayonnement régional, il est nommé directeur-adjoint du Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional d’Angers en 2005, puis devient en 2008, directeur du Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Reims. Il vient d’être nommé directeur du Conservatoire Régional de Strasbourg.

Mr. Dubois took the world’s stage early in his career when he won two major organ competitions in 2002: the Recital Gold Medal at the 2002 Calgary International Organ Competition, and the Grand Prize at the 2002 International Competition of Toulouse, France. As a result of these prizes, Mr. Dubois has performed in major concert venues throughout Europe, North America, Asia and the Pacific. His performances have included numerous international music festivals such as Cambridge, Stuttgart, Dresden, Vancouver, Montreal, Chartres, and Roskilde.
Mr. Dubois has also appeared as guest soloist with several orchestras and ensembles, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Hong-Kong Philharmonic, the Orchestre Philharmonique of Radio France, the Orchestre National de France, the Orquesta Filharmonica del Gran Canaria, the Orchestre de Picardie, and the Orchestre de Bretagne. His performances have been broadcast over Radio France, the O.R.F. Vienna, CBC Radio Canada, Australian Radio and American Public Media’s Pipedreams. In addition, he has been invited to teach organ master classes at such prestigious institutions as Yale University, Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, Oberlin College, Baylor University, St. Paul University, Emory University, and he was recently appointed Continuing Guest Artist at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he continues with teaching residencies each season.
Mr. Dubois has made several recordings, including a CD of the organ music of Franz Liszt available on the Vox Coelistis label; a CD on the JAV label recorded at St. Sulpice in Paris; and on the Radio France and Tempéraments label a recording at St. Etienne de Caen, which features the complete 3rd Symphonie of Louis Vierne and the Op. 7 Preludes and Fugues of Marcel Dupré.
In addition to his extensive performing and teaching, Mr. Dubois has held the post of Director General of the Strasbourg National and Superior Conservatory of Music in France since March 2012.
In January 2016, after a comprehensive audition and competition for the available post, Mr. Dubois was appointed the newest of three titular organists of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, where he will serve along with the two other titular organists, Olivier Latry and Philippe Lefèbvre.

About Vincent Dubois
Vincent Dubois announced his presence on the world stage in 2002 when he won major prizes at the Calgary International Organ Competition in Canada and the Toulouse International Organ Competition in France.
Since then he has performed as a recitalist and concerto soloist all over the world, appearing with some of the world’s leading orchestras including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Hong-Kong Philharmonic and the Orchestre National de France.
In January 2016 he was appointed one of the three titular organists at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.

Summer Organ Festival
This concert is part of the Summer Organ Festival, where the Abbey’s magnificent five-manual Harrison & Harrison organ takes centre stage.
Matthew Jorysz, Thomas Trotter, James O’Donnell and Peter Holder will also be performing during the festival, which will see the organ brought to life.
The festival takes place between 12th July and 9th August 2022.

Description
The pipe organ at the Parish Church of Saint-Sulpice in Paris France is one of Cavaille-Coll’s masterpieces. Vincent Dubois plays a varied program on this pipe organ featuring works by Mozart, a transcription of Liszt’s “Evocation a la Chapelle Sixtine”, a transcription by Vierne of Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in c-sharp minor, and an improvisation at the console. Vincent Dubois is one of the brightest talents in the organ world. This CD was produced and recorded by Christoph Frommen in SACD Surround Sound. Surround Sound Recording is the ultimate in audio technology, creating extraordinary sonic definition and reproduction of the room ambiance. Included in the 32-page booklet accompanying the CD is an interview with Michel Goussu, the organbuilder who cares for, and was part of, the team that restored the instrument. Michel Goussu discusses fascinating details about the history, design and care of the organ at Saint-Sulpice. A photo essay of Vincent Dubois recording the Liszt, working with the 2 registrants making crescendos and decrescendos, is also included in the CD booklet. This disc will play on a standard CD player, but an SACD player is needed to hear it in Surround Sound.
